John Graham Leslie is one of those enigmatic artists who has been writing and performing his songs to a loyal circle of fans for some time.
He was the driving force behind two signed bands, The Wright Brothers (1986-90) and The Plough (1991-95), receiving press and radio acclaim in the UK and Ireland. John now re-emerges with what he says is the album he’s been gathering inspiration for since 1960 (the year he was born!)
The Land The River The Sea is a collection of 11 original earthy and diverse songs
spanning Celtic Folk, Country and Americana while retaining a contemporary rock feel throughout.
John plays an array of instruments on the album including acoustic and electric guitar, mandolin, mandola and melodeon, highlighting an innate musical dexterity. His voice is gritty and edgy, and this combination together with additional guest musicians, make it emotive and unique. As one reviewer put it, “Great music… These are songs from the heart… watch out it grows into you!”
The album was produced by John David and Adrienne Aiken, two accomplished producers with credits ranging from Dave Edmunds and Emmylou Harris to Helium Soul and Lesley Garrett. Both worked from their respective studios with a common purpose that is this album.
The Land The River The Sea is John Graham Leslie’s 4th studio album, but the first as a solo artist.
